Qualified Carpenters Needed for Antarctic Construction & Maintenance Project
Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica Positions Available: 5 Carpenters Duration: March and May Rate: $50 per hour About the Role: Looking for a once in a lifetime opportunity? We're seeking five experienced Carpenters to join the construction and maintenance crew at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. This role is perfect for skilled tradespeople eager for a unique challenge in one of the most remote and extraordinary environments on Earth. You'll work across a range of carpentry tasks essential to supporting station operations, maintaining facilities, and ensuring the ongoing safety and functionality of critical structures. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general carpentry, construction, and maintenance work across station facilities
- Carry out repairs, installations, and upgrades as required
- Work safely and efficiently in extreme weather conditions
- Collaborate with a mufti disciplinary team to support station operations
- Follow strict safety protocols and work guidelines at all times.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or Construction Tradesperson
- Open work rights in New Zealand
- Ability to pass medical, dental, and background checks
- Strong problem solving skills and excellent attention to detail
- Adaptable, reliable, and comfortable working in a challenging, isolated environment
