Retro caravan do-up project
Description
Looks are sadly deceiving with this Anglo Pullman - she looks pretty, but was renovated without being watertight so now needs quite a bit of work. She is also badged and registered as a Munro, as a previous owner had their wires crossed.
We bought the caravan 4 years ago - it had been recently renovated - repainted, new upholstery, chassis refurbished and new stabilisers.
We were told it had no leaks, but we realised after bringing it home that there were a number of leaks. Between us and a local motorhome repair company, we thought we had resealed the whole thing, but one leak slipped through and the front left pillar has rotted and needs replacing. The front window has also slumped a few mm on one side as a result.
There's some interior panel damage caused by the earlier leaks before they were sealed, swollen chipboard in places and some small pieces broken off in corners where we have prodded to investigate.
There are some other minor fixes to do, a few of the cabinetry handles are broken, there's some exterior paint damage at the edges where seal has been replaced and the roof has a couple of small peeled areas. The flooring is older with some discoloration and there are a few dings and marks from general use. The window seals are brittle, I would imagine original.
Lights and fridge work well, there's no gas connection. Comes with what we assume is original awning. Underbody is in good condition.
It has had a WOF and E-WOF until recently - WOF expired April 2025 and E-WOF expired Dec 2024. Rego is valid until January 2026.
If you'd like to inspect in person in Avondale - please enquire.
We don't want a DIY project and we're moving house and don't have room for a caravan at our new place - so this is a great opportunity for someone to give it some love and make it their own!
Questions & Answers
Hi Trader, could you please clarify why this is back up for Auction and the leading bid is now less then what it sold for? Many thanks. f*********8 (450 • 6:42 am, Tue, 3 Jun )Hi - I accidentally set this as a same day auction, rather than having it live for 2 weeks as I meant to. I withdrew and relisted when I realized, about 6 hours before the auction end time - so it didn't sell. ertstar (150 • Tuesday, 3 June 2025 )Hi there, how many ft is the caravan? k*****b (47 • 8:33 am, Tue, 3 Jun )14 1/2 foot (443cm), plus the drawbar extends another 165cm. ertstar (150 • Tuesday, 3 June 2025 )Hi there, could I please view the caravan this week. Thank you x**t (603 • 12:54 pm, Tue, 3 Jun )Yes sure - what are some days/times that suit? You can message me on 0274748993 to arrange a viewing. ertstar (150 • Tuesday, 3 June 2025 )Seller added 3 photos Seller comment Tuesday, 3 June 2025 Gidday, is this caravan registered or got rego on hold? Cheers Mac. m*****3 (20 • 7:06 pm, Tue, 3 Jun )Current rego, expires Jan 2026 ertstar (150 • Tuesday, 3 June 2025 )Hi, does it need any attention for WoF? Will it tow ok? Cheers. m******7 (235 • 11:40 am, Wed, 4 Jun )Yes it tows fine but I personally would stay on low speed roads with the window not being fully supported due to the pillar issue. I'm not an expert on WOF checks but think the window would be an issue with that. Otherwise no issues for WOF as far as I'm aware. ertstar (150 • Wednesday, 4 June 2025 )Cheers for the quick answer, I guess best to tow it during peak traffic :) m******7 (235 • 12:05 pm, Wed, 4 Jun )Yes - or could temporarily secure the window with some board or tape I guess. ertstar (150 • Wednesday, 4 June 2025 )Leak status update - there are at least two corners with leaks - recent rain has made another one of the internal corners damp again - the two known leaks are on the door side of the caravan at either end. We can't guarantee that there aren't other leaks beyond the ones we are aware of. Seller comment Thursday, 5 June 2025 Does the door open and close with ease b******7 (462 • 4:45 am, Wed, 11 Jun )Yes the door is fine ertstar (150 • Wednesday, 11 June 2025 )It's hard to be certain from the picture but in picture 9 has the wall started to swell b******7 (462 • 4:50 am, Wed, 11 Jun )Yes there are a few places inside where the panel has been damaged/swollen from leaking- this is one of them ertstar (150 • Wednesday, 11 June 2025 )
