Norton Commando 1970

Description
I have had a couple of interested parties advise me after doing their research that this could well be a "S" Type model. It does have the "S" headlight ring in the parts, and by '71 these were only on the "S". Do your own research, but if it's an "S" then that is quite a desirable model.
Here is another project, only easier than the others and its a NORTON! This was a complete running motorcycle until an oil leak developed and the head was removed and that is where it stayed. This apparently happened around 25 years ago. It has the Dunstal 810 barrels and what appears to be new big valves. Obviously long dropped off the system as it was last registered in 1981, with a rego plate 86GCM. I have the plate and the old WOF and the 1981 rego sticker still attached. The bike is triple matching numbers, meaning frame, engine and gearbox. They are 20m3S 141320. manufactured OCT 1970 making this a 1971 model. It was sprayed with a preservative so it looks dusty but its not rusty. Original fibreglass tank still in good condition. Not a lot of Dunstal stuff out there. Also included is a set of brand new 36mm Amal Carbs. Its got the makings of a hot shot snorting Norton. My reserve is set at a very reasonable price for what is here. As an option, if you buy it but don't have the expertise to make it snort again then we could look at turning this into the bike of your dreams here at my workshop, Donn's Classic Motorcycles
PLEASE NOTE. IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS A 1970 MODEL, NOT A 1971. EITHER A MK1 ROADSTER OR A 'S' TYPE. NOT SO MANY OF THESE EARLIER MODELS ABOUT. MISTAKE ON MY BEHALF QUOTING IT AS A 1971.
