Jaguar MK2 V8 Daimler 1964
$17,000
Description
Classic Mark 2 body shape with the Turner V8 2.5L engine.
Jaguar had bought the Daimler motor company and put this little V8 engine in their current body and gave it different specs.
This car was originally a hamilton car and i did talk to the elderly owner some years ago. It was restored about 22 years ago and i bought it not long after.
It had various engine work ( nothing major that I'm aware of but fully checked through - the restorer was an engineer), Auto gearbox work, a full body restore, full internal leather, wood, and wool head lining replacement. It smells of all those things like it would have in the showroom in 1964.
It featured in a Classic Car magazine feature along side a Green Jag brother
Its rolling on period Dunlop SP100s and beautiful chrome wires.
Since i owned it I've had the following things done that i can remember.
Early on i did brake cylinders ( stainless sleeve)
Various steering/ suspension bushes as they come up.
Full twin card rebuild by Weber specialties
Water pump
Steering seals
Radiator/heater hoses
electric fuel pump
I'll add things as i recall...
It rides awesome , smooth , confident, as an auto, w/powersteer, and disk brakes all round can give. Stops on a dollar/pound
Has a new WOF and will have 12 months rego.

Warts: Its over 20 years since restore.. the paint is beautiful but there are few panels that have bubbling (mainly passenger doors mid height). This isnt rust. Its an old paint.. new paint over issue and it can be left, ignored and just enjoy the car.. or taken back on those parts and epoxy sealed and re-coated. Its British so it leaks oils from various places.... but you knew that already. Its too quiet.. I should open up the stainless steel exhaust for more burble!
I'm selling as i just don't use it much.. see my mileage after 20+ years. I've also got many toys (I did NOT say "too many") in the toy box from the Motherland, Fatherland, Luckyland and the Land of the Rising Sun and its the latter that interests me (and my sons) these days.
