Griff's musical history is rich and varied, from his time in The Human Instinct at 16 years of age, to playing with renowned artists such as The Kinks, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Gary Numan and Hans Zimmer to name but a few.

The Visitor is a romantic offering, reminiscent of a heady night on the Champs Elysees. Griff is the quintessential romanticist. With a refined air akin to Bryan Ferry or Robert Palmer, his voice is a soulful, yearning plea. Strings and delicate female harmonies envelop emotive lyrics, driven by sophisticated percussion, tinkling keys and the occasional searing guitar. The Visitor is unashamedly steeped in sensuality, as Griff willingly surrenders to his desires.

Infatuation begins with a Grace Jones-esque syncopated beat with exotic eastern intonations reminiscent of a snake charmer's flute. Griff's soulful voice floats across the languid rhythms accompanied by female harmonies, as we are transported to a night garden in Morocco or an evening river sail upon the Nile.

The album was recorded in part at Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios and Eddie Rayner's Mt Eden studio, and produced by the highly accomplished musician/producer and former Split Enz/Crowded House member, Eddie Rayner. The result is rich, polished, refined.

To work closely with a producer such as Eddie, who listens to your heart, your emotions of composition, enables your creations to live and to come alive, is amazing. I loved the experience of working with him.”
