It says pick up Dunedin & Palmerston North, which one is it?

Unfortunately, we are unable to change our seller location as we are Palmerston North based. The item’s location will be in the written description twice, in the subheading & in the first 2 images of the auction for clarification. So, it would be Dunedin.

Can I pay cash on pickup or use Eftpos instore?

No, all transactions are by NZ Bank Deposit/Direct Credit. We don’t have the facilities instore to accept cash or eftpos payments.

Can I view in the weekend?

No, Fleetwise operates weekdays only.

Can I collect my vehicle in the weekend?

Yes, we have an after-hours lockbox on the side of our building. Payment must be made & all relevant paperwork completed before Fleetwise will send a unique code. Vehicles are left out under CCTV surveillance at the buyer’s risk. Written off vehicles & plant items are excluded from this offering.

Where are the walkaround notes for this item?

Our walkaround notes are only supplied for light vehicles located in our Palmerston North yard. Trucks, plant items & insurance write offs are excluded.

Can I trade in my vehicle/ Do you offer finance?

No sorry.

Can I arrange a prepurchase inspection?

Yes, you can before the auction finishes. Easiest way is to ring Transpec Services, Palmerston North on 06 354 9926 & they can sort the rest. (No affiliation with Fleetwise)

If you wish to use another provider, you will need to contact Fleetwise to organise a time/day & ensure the vehicle can be picked up & dropped off at an allocated time as agreed. Fleetwise doesn’t have the resources to do the organising or pickup/drop-off of vehicles unfortunately.

Any Buy Now?

No sorry. As Fleetwise doesn’t own any of the stock listed, we must let all our auctions run their course & let the market decide the final outcome. You might even get it cheaper than what you were prepared to offer.

Can you please not deregister my write off after changing ownership?

No, if it is sold deregistered, by law, we must deregister it. If it was sold with live registration, then we just transfer the ownership like normal.

Any warranty with this vehicle?

Fleetwise doesn’t offer any warranty on purchases, however buyers can obtain a mechanical warranty through any 3rd party provider of their choosing. Buyers are covered under the Consumers Guarantees Act where applicable.

Why did an auction get withdrawn?

Fleetwise doesn’t own any of the items listed for sale. Sometimes, our clients will request that we withdraw the listing as they may have had a change in circumstance & it is now required in their plant/fleet. This is outside of Fleetwise’ s control & requests can only be made before the auction closes. Occasionally we may make a substantial error on the listing & will withdraw it to rectify. It will be relisted soon after if this is the case.

Can you upload more photos?

For vehicle auctions the photo limit is 15 & for plant/other items the limit is 20, so if this amount is reached then we cannot upload more unfortunately.

For items sold off-site, we will upload what we took on our visit, but further image requests will have to be arranged through the on-site contact listed in the description.

For wrecked vehicles, we rely on photos provided to us by the assessors/salvage yard. What we upload is what he have & can’t obtain more.

If you’re still unsure & require more images, Fleetwise strongly suggests viewing the item yourself or contracting a trusted 3rd party (such as a friend, mechanic, or panel beater) to inspect & get the images or information you require.

The contact for the listing won’t answer the phone, how do I find out more information?

Please be patient with the listing contact as they must juggle answering phone enquiries with their normal day to day workload & can’t always answer the phone at a moment’s notice. Make sure the question isn’t already answered in the description or easy to find online & that the phone calls are confined to weekdays 8am to 4:30pm as phone calls outside these hours are unsolicited. Failing that, you could google their business name & location, call their branch number & get directed to someone that way.

Fleetwise Deregistration Process:

When purchasing an insurance write off through Fleetwise that is sold deregistered, our insurance company has instructed that these are to be transferred into the new buyer’s name first, whilst the plate is still live, then Fleetwise is to deregister the vehicle.

This is so that infringements accumulated post auction aren’t sent to the previous owner or the insurance company (who would’ve been the last registered owner should the vehicle already been deregistered pre-auction). It is preferred by the insurance company that the written off vehicles are sold & absorbed by the parts/wrecking trade. This process is a benefit for those who wish to resurrect the written off vehicle as it is easier for NZTA to trace you to the vehicle as you are the last registered owner.

It should be noted that this process is non-negotiable as it is under the instruction of the insurance company. If you don’t agree with the process, then do not bid.

Walkaround Notes Defined:

Fleetwise offers prospective buyers complimentary notes on each light vehicle in the Palmerston North yard. These notes are honest & is used as a tool to help bidders know more information on the vehicle which otherwise wouldn’t be mentioned. These notes are accumulated on a brief walk around of the vehicle & does not constitute a detailed inspection or prepurchase inspection.

What Defines a Pass?

ENGINE:

Oil level: There is oil on the dipstick between the low & full mark. Smoke & fumes: Petrol: There is no blue smoke visible out the back window under acceleration or on cold start up Diesel: There isn’t an excessive amount of black smoke visible out the back window under acceleration which could affect the vehicles WOF. No blue smoke on acceleration. Performance: If the vehicle performs as expected commensurate with age & kilometres. Vehicles are driven in both low & high-speed environments for a maximum of 10 minutes. Noise: If the noise is to be expected from this vehicle’s engine (no unusual rattles, exhaust leaks etc)

BRAKES:

Performance: The vehicles brakes work as expected & the vehicle comes to a stop safely. No brake codes or messages are displayed on the dash. Hand Brake: The vehicles park brake operates when stationary regardless of handbrake travel.

TYRES:

All tyre tread depths are measured on the outer primary groove. Spare wheels are checked if they are present (Space Savers included) however, tread depths aren’t checked on the spare. Tyre pressures aren’t checked.

LIFTING EQUIPMENT:

Please note that tow eyes/hooks, first aid kits & other roadside emergency items are excluded from the walkaround notes & are not checked. Wheel braces aren’t checked to see if they fit the vehicles current wheel nuts.

Jack: The vehicles jack is present. Winder: The winder for the jack is present (scissor jack), or the pumping handle (bottle jack) Wheel Brace: There is a breaker bar/wheel brace present.

COLD FAN/HEATER:

Please note that air conditioning systems are not checked for functionality. Operation: The heater blows both hot/cold air & the fan is adjustable in its intensity.

ELECTRICAL/ACCESSORIES:

Dashboard Warning Lights: There are no warnings displayed on the dashboard whilst vehicle is in operation. Fleetwise does not check for missing/blown bulbs. Window Winder FL: The front left window operates from its own switch/winder. Window Winder FR: The front right window operates from its own switch/winder. Other functions on master switch untested. Window Winder RL: The rear left window operates from its own switch/winder if applicable. Window Winder RR: The rear right window operates from its own switch/winder if applicable. Radio: The radio is audible. Fleetwise does not check volume, source inputs/phone connectivity or station scanning abilities etc. Number of Keys: This is the number of vehicle keys that have been provided with the vehicle. Fleetwise does not check canopy, toolbox, or fuel flap keys if applicable. Central Locking: The central locking is working when driver’s door unlocked/locked. Remote Locking: The remote key unlocks/locks the vehicle if applicable. Fleetwise will test 1 remote key only. Reversing Camera: The reversing camera is working.

Body Inspection Comments: This is where external damages & general remarks on the vehicle’s exterior are noted. Under Carriage & Under Bonnet Inspection Comments: This is where general remarks under the bonnet, engine bay & underneath the vehicle are noted.

Interior Comments: Seats: Stains, rips or excessive wear is noted Carpets: Stains, holes or excessive wear is noted. Includes vehicles vinyl floors & hood linings. Panels: Holes drilled, or excessive wear is noted. Holes drilled relates to screw holes which held a RT/CB Radio or similar. Panels relates to, but not limited to, lower dash, kick panels & footwell trims. Dashboard: Holes drilled & damage of any kind is noted. Holes drilled relates to screw holes which held a RT/CB Radio or similar.

General Comments: This is where general remarks are made, features noted, or why a particular item failed in the check list is explained.
