The exclusive replica model as raced by Shane van Gisbergen to third place in Race 16 of the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown Indigenous round in the 2022 V8 Supercars Championship. The striking Indigenous livery was designed by the students of the Clontarf Foundation?s Nightcliff Academy in Darwin. The special livery features intricate colour circles of the Aboriginal flag and is anchored by a stunningly detailed blue and white path through the middle of the design ? symbolising a connection to the theme of NAIDOC and new beginnings. The livery also honours the 10-year partnership between co-naming rights partner Ampol and the Clontarf Foundation. Reigning V8 Champion, Shane van Gisbergen and current leader battled hard with the DJR Mustangs of de Pasquale and Davison over the unforgiving Hidden Valley track. Although driving the fastest lap of the race, it wasn?t enough and van Gisbergen grabbed his 13th podium of the season and still led the Driver?s Championship after the 3 race round.
