The North Atlantic Right Whale is one of the rarest marine mammals, with fewer than 400 individuals remaining. These whales are known for their distinctive callosities on their heads and their slow movements, which sadly made them easy targets during the whaling era. Today, they are a critically endangered species, protected and closely monitored in efforts to aid their recovery.
