Description
This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Type 89 tank, the first official tank in Japan, was equipped with a gasoline engine at the beginning of its development, but assuming operation on the continent where it is difficult to secure water, cooling water is unnecessary and fuel efficiency is improved. The engine was later replaced with an air-cooled diesel engine that can reduce the risk of vehicle body flames due to fuel leaks. The type with this engine was called the Otsu type; the vehicle equipped with a gasoline engine was called the A type.
In this model kit from Fine Molds, the differences such as the fuel filler port on top of the hull, which was a feature of the Otsu type, are reproduced in detail. The luggage wrapped in the seat placed on the tail at the rear of the hull, often seen in photographs at the time, is modeled with plastic parts. The anti-aircraft gun can be selected either equipped on the gun rack or stored. The crawler track is a belt type made of soft resin, and photo-etched parts are included for the muffler cover.
