Trade Me to launch new services category in August

Written by the Trade Me Team in General at 5:16pm, Fri 30 Jul 2010

Just a little heads up from us that we are planning on launching a new “services” category on Trade Me at the end of August. This will be a place where small businesses can cost-effectively advertise their services. On the consumer side, Kiwis will be able to search for local businesses, as well as deliver and review the businesses’ feedback.

We are teaming up with NoCowboys, a services-focused website. As well as working with us to build listings in the services category, the NoCowboys team will also be involved in a range of other activities with Trade Me, including a role as the exclusive third party reseller for the category. Today, NoCowboys is contacting all its existing clients to let them know about the partnership.

“Services” will be a new category on the Trade Me homepage, and will sit in-between “Real estate” and “Sports”. It won’t be a separate vertical like Trade Me Motors, Trade Me Jobs and Trade Me Property.  More...

Reminder about free gallery listings

Written by Trade Me staff in General at 9:15am, Mon 26 Jul 2010

Last Tuesday (20 July) we held a Free Gallery Day as a way to apologise for a muck-up we made back in May - lots and lots of people took advantage of it.

The majority of the freebie Gallery listings will be coming up for relist tomorrow (27 July). For anyone who took advantage of that offer, this is just a friendly reminder that when any unsold items come up for relist, you will need to pay to keep the Gallery feature on. If you want Gallery removed from your listings, please remove the tick from the Gallery box on the Extras page.

We don’t want anyone to get surprised when they see this fee charged.
