As of today, listings across the site that chin the bar of coolness are highlighted on their own special page.

On this all-new Cool Auctions landing page you can not only view a bunch of cool listings, but bid on them, and add your favourites to your Watchlist.

Cool Auctions will also continue to appear on the Trade Me homepage, but the new page will make it heaps easier to keep an eye on all of them at once.  More...

Get on top with a Super Feature

You can now promote your properties for sale by upgrading to a Super Feature. It doesn’t have magical powers, but it puts you at the top of all other listings (on rotation) for relevant searches, meaning more eyes on your property. See the pretty screenshot below.

Here’s what else you need to know:

Issue: Landing pages for Jobs & Property

We had a little issue with the landing pages for Trade Me Jobs and Trade Me Property this morning between 9:22am and 9:44am. It is all fixed and listings were unaffected, but we're sorry for any inconvenience.

Trade Me launched Treat Me today

We launched Treat Me today, our brand spanking new group-buying site that will offer discounted deals in Auckland and Wellington, before spreading across the country.

Treat Me will harness the retro coolness of vouchers and coupons, kicked off by Groupon in the USA back in 2008. With the Kiwi market still in its infancy, we’re confident Treat Me will appeal to Kiwi advertisers and buyers as a place to find a great deal.

Just like Trade Me, Treat Me will be focused on providing consumers with more spending power and helping local businesses reach additional customers. It will operate as a separate business unit with a dedicated team, led by a smart guy called James MacAvoy. More...

Canterbury earthquake: an update

Trade Me will observe two minutes' silence for the victims of the devastating Canterbury earthquake today. As a result, we will be offline between 12:51pm and 12:53pm, one week after the tragic events in Christchurch.

We think it is important to acknowledge the friends and family of the people who have died and are missing. (Please note that all auctions due to close between 12.45pm and 1pm will be extended by 30 minutes.)

We have also made a change to the “seller success fee top-up” and have added the Salvation Army’s Canterbury Earthquake Relief Appeal as an option for sellers, replacing our long-term partner Forest & Bird.  More...
