Prime Minister, John Key was asked by TVNZ Breakfast Presenter, Pippa Wetzell to draw his version of a "new NZ Flag" - if it were to change.

The Prime Minister drew what he says is a 'silver fern', Pippa Wetzell described as a 'lop-sided Christmas Tree'.

The A4 drawing is now listed for auction with all proceeds going to Cure Kids.

Mr Key has given his approval both on-air on Breakfast (7:20am on Monday morning the 8th of February) and via his Parliamentary Office for this to be auctioned and the proceeds donated to charity.

You will see that it's signed by John Key and if you watch the interview with Pippa and Mr Key on tvnz.co.nz or youtube.com you will understand why he's included the copyright symbol.

The drawing is listed with a $1 reserve and will be framed for the winning bidder.

It can be couriered or picked up from TVNZ in Victoria Street, Auckland.

Update #1: John Key's office has called to say the Prime Minister would be delighted to host the winning bidder for morning tea. The only proviso is that it would have to be at a time that suited Mr Key - understandably!
