Variegated monstera. Definitely deliciosa, as it has the classic ruffles at the petiole that is characteristic of deliciosa. No need to ask for pics of the mother plant, this IS the mother plant! Have not seen such a mature, rooted one on offer before. Plant is 1m tall from soil to top and growing rapidly at the moment. Root ball is a 50cm ball as of 6 weeks ago when it was repotted, so will be larger now. Plant has been grown from cutting over the last three years. Very well variegated main stalk so won’t revert any time soon. If you follow me on insta, you would have seen that the latest leaves have been highly variegated. I cut it back to encourage some greener growth. After experimenting, I’m fairly certain I have cracked the code of encouraging greener growth- I’m burying the aerial roots from higer up in the main plant to allow the plant to better feed itself higher up. These plants do this on their own when growing in nature so it was just a bit of intuition following that lead to that. You can see the progressive increase in chlorophyll in the leaves from pics 2 through four. Each is a pic of the next leaf following me burying the aerial roots. I could be talking out my arse but I can only go with what I feel as there seems to be no definite literature in the universe on this subject. Largest leaf is 40cm+. This is a great investment plant. There are currently three nodes that have sprouted due to the apical dominance being released when I cut the growth tip back so with some clever air layering you should be able to detach 3 separate plants by winter. This plant has been loved and despite the browning on the leaves, which I am sure all vmons will have with age, is very healthy. On average it is throwing out a new leaf every couple weeks.
