Description
A working, 30 year old Vintage Apple Macintosh Powerbook 145 from 1992
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowerBook_140 The PowerBook 145 was the speed bumped 140, between the low-end 100 and the high-end 170. The 140 is the very first 'notebook' computer created by Apple (in 1991).
You'll get:
- Powerbook 145
- Genuine, Original Apple business case
- Set of original install/utility floppies in original folio
- Original AU/NZ power supply
Startup video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/cbwdafonPNimCaQd7
ALSO, it will come with a Powerbook 150. This has a failed LCD but as far as I'm aware, it is still otherwise working so you can use for spares or potentially rebuild it.
Full disclosure:
- See the video for startup, 'about' spec' and reading the floppies. Sound on for the nostalgic startup tune!
- Screen in the video looks flickery, but not in real life. It is pretty great for 30 years.
- I don't know the full history of the 145, but bought it working to play with and it seems to be fine. I've finished playing with it now so time to move on :). It doesn't appear that it has ever been opened.
- The 150 and accessories were mine from new. I've investigated a new screen, but they seem to be pretty rare, and a common failure is temp/storage issues which is what happened here. The 150 has never been opened, but as per photos it has some case damage.
- I have only tried a couple of the floppies and they both work, but seem slow to read. The drive from the 150 may improve this? not sure. No guarantees that any of the floppy disks work sorry.
- Battery(s) states unknown.
