Description
Huge Antique Vintage metal Turkey thanksgiving celebration display mould! This is huge, heavy and solid tinned metal made in the early 1900’s.
I cannot identify the manufacturer due to the hinge plates that were affixed to this, but knowing the sizing and styling, this will either be from Dresden, Germany - made by Anton Reiche via T.C Weygandt or from New York, USA - made by Eppelsheimer & Co.
The dating is between 1910 and 1940, and this is a 3-piece(including base plate) display size mold standing an impressive 23cm tall by 20cm across and 10cm wide at the feathered fantail.
The beautiful piece has a lovely patina running through the curves and lines on the exterior and the interior is amazingly shiny after almost a century of storage on kitchen or sweet shop shelves. This would make a perfect table chocolate centrepiece during Easter, Christmas, thanksgiving or other holiday celebrations with the whanau! Alternatively, you could be creative and turn this into a unique candle or wax creation! Otherwise make chalkware or plaster of Paris figures to paint with the kids and family.
Added photos showing example pricing of similar sized moulds. Wonderful piece, very solid, hinge works great, has self sealing clips around the flanges which secure the chocolate inside whilst setting. Make sure you have a LOT of chocolate or candy on hand when making as it will take a bit.
Would also suit a quaint villa cottage rustic kitchen or kitchenalia decorative art. Staging homes, show homes, wall decor.
