Description
Having a clear out - check my other listings! Sisson Nucleus Kayak, now the Nautique Gyro. This is a lightweight and tough carbon/kevlar version, composite cloth is similar to the JKK layup but gel coated to prevent UV fading. Sisson layups are tough. Comes with a basic spray deck, a bumfortable seat, and a foot pump. 5.2m x 48cm and really lightweight to move around off the water.
Great condition overall, no damage other than the minor scrape on the bow shown in photos which has had a bit of gelcoat placed over it. Bumfortable seat, pedal steering, with a foot pump to clear water from inside the hull. This boat is nominally optimised for a paddler of about 60-72 kg in big water conditions, but can be used by paddlers up to 80-100kg in calmer conditions (I am 6’3” about 80-85kg and it has been fine for me on mostly flat water).
Description from Nautique Kayaks (current manufacturer): https://www.nautiquekayaks.co.nz/kayaks-3/the-esprit-2/ “The Gyro is designed for smaller paddlers up to 72kg and blends a slippery-fast, rounded hull with elegantly flared sides for excellent secondary stability. The result is a hull that gives you the best of both worlds - elite-level speeds with intermediate-level stability. Please note that the maximum weight suggestion is related to the boat's handling in rough water. A Gyro can also be paddled on flat water with great results by a larger (80+ kg) paddler. The Gyro is a super-fun kayak that reminds you how much fun paddling can be.”
Any questions, ask away. Pickup from Little Shoal Bay, Birkenhead or I can deliver in Auckland (within about 1hr drive from Birkenhead) for $10 or we can work out fuel cost further out up to about a 2hr drive. Further than that we can arrange shipping through roofspace.co.nz or you can have someone pick up on behalf. In any case we would like to move this out within about 10 days of auction closing so we can clear out the rack space. Happy bidding!

Hi there Is the nucleus 60 or 80? o***1 (19 • 12:46 pm, Thu, 23 May )This is the 60. From the Sisson website: “The Nucleus 60 is optimised for light paddlers. However heavier paddlers up to 100kg who like a ‘tight’ boat are taking the Nucleus 60 up to Evolution Classic type speeds in actual races.” Will post a few photos with more info on how the hull design works. It has a lot of flare above the waterline and has had enough volume for me at over 80kg. ab1248 (285 • Thursday, 23 May 2024 )Seller added 3 photos Seller comment Thursday, 23 May 2024
