This is the real deal, an original 1968 Telecaster with rosewood fretboard (rosewood telecasters from this era are quite rare). The only modification is the bridge pickup which has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan 'Vintage for Broadcaster'. I still have the original pickup and it will come with the guitar but it would really need re-waxing if it is to be a reliable pickup. Tone-wise, the replacement pickup that is in the guitar is pretty much indistinguishable from the original.

This guitar is a tone monster and would be a welcome addition to any serious guitarist's tool kit. It has been my #1 guitar (out of about 30) for about the last 6 or 7 years and is extremely playable. I know the full history of the guitar over the last forty years.

From an aesthetic/condition point of view, this guitar is most certainly not mint, it has been a gigging guitar for more than 50 years (see photos). However, from a playing perspective it is pretty much perfect and is unusually light for a Tele.

The guitar has been refinished at some point in it's history and the photos don't really do it justice, the actual colour is a bit deeper and richer than the photos portray.

This is not the sort of guitar that comes up for sale very often, especially in NZ. I was never intending to sell it but I have developed a medical condition that prevents me from playing anymore so it really needs to go to someone who will appreciate it, and also to someone who can play it like it needs to be played.

This would be a very special gift for any serious guitar person, no matter how many guitars they already own. Also, collectable vintage guitars like this are brilliant investments.
