Extremely sad sale of our fabulous homebred gelding Komet. We will all be devastated to see Komet go but with no rider in the family we have decided to find a new home for Komet where his full potential will be realised. Komet AKA The Golden Snitch, is a stunning 5 year old palomino gelding, homebred by unregistered partbred welsh stallion out of TB mare. (by Hillbilly Bounce by Greenlee Solomon out of Princess Jubilee by Iffraaj) Measured at 153cm but still has some growing to do so may end up a little bigger. He has plenty of bone and easily carries his current rider who is 5’6”. Komet is a young horse who has been professionally started and slowly brought on under saddle. Has 3 lovely balanced paces, schooled over poles & just started jumping showing good promise. His dam is a 105cm eventer, so there may be some natural talent from her. Komet is excellent to ride, he doesn’t need working every day or hours of work at a show. Due to his current rider’s other commitments, including a baby, Komet is ridden a maximum of 3 times a week and is fine to get straight on after a break in riding. Komet is still green in his schooling and education but he rides forward into a nice light contact, has started lateral work and is ready to step into a dressage arena. We have lightly but very successfully shown Komet both in hand (as a 3 & 4 year old) and more recently under saddle in Park Hack & Golden Ridden classes. Komet’s first show under saddle was a Pony Club show in November, he has since competed at an A&P show and South Island Premiers, staying away from home and hacking nicely alone around Canterbury Showground. Komet has also attended Pony Club and a pole work clinic. He will continue his education with us until we find a home he deserves. While Komet has some mileage under saddle, he is still green, he’s not been ridden by a novice. Komet is an incredibly loved young horse and will only be sold to a home where his true potential will be realised this is a very genuine & sad sale due to no regular rider.
