Oris Bd 150 horns mounted in open baffle solid wood frames with custom crossover. Highly efficient, conservatively rated at 97db per 1 watt at 1 metre Built in 2023 with new drivers and XOs, just run in. These were in the recent Webbs audiophile auction and got to $6500 which was under the reserve, sadly the buyers and sellers premiums made it a little hard to come to a satisfactory deal. The Oris horn goes down to 150HZ and the 2 15 inch drivers are run as individual drivers splitting the rest of the range between them through the dividing network. The drivers are rear mounted in a thick hardwood baffle with custom rear sandwich mounting rings to remove any frame deflection. The lower 15 inch driver handles the lower bass registers and uses floor reflection for enhanced bass response. These are quite imposing speakers and they stand around 5 foot 10 inches, so dont bid if you cant fit them in your room. How do they sound?....... Well quite frankly they sound like effortless live music, they fill the room and make the sound physical (you feel the impact of the bass and drums in your chest). I can assure you you havent heard anything quite like these before. I have them hooked up at home to a pair of 24 watt SET valve mono blocks (also listed for sale)and they sound fantastic and go as loud as you could possibly want. You couldnt get anywhere near buying the horns and drivers (let alone the crossovers) for anywhere near the starting price (the horns alone in this premium finish cost around 6K landed).
