Description
A fantastic and very collectable Frank Carpay Decorated Crown Lynn Dish shape 735.
Part of his now very sought after Handwerk Range.
The Dutch Born NZ designer only worked at Crown Lynn from 1953 - 1956.... and although his work was critically acclaimed by the local Art Community ..it was not so popular with the buying public of the time.
Much more so these days.
It measures 159mm long by 114mm wide and 32mm deep.
I love the way Carpay signed these pieces with his signature stylized "handwerk" painted mark ..
Marked also with the Crown Lynn Impressed Three Star Tiki Mark.
It does show numerous very tiny flea bites to its periphery as shown in my photos, and age crazing is evident on close inspection ...but the nibbles really are very small and the piece remains a great collectable in my opinion.
