Description

Large Signed Will Longstaff Original Oil Painting – WWI Artist – Castle Landscape – 64 x 90cm

Impressive original oil painting by renowned Australian/British artist Will Longstaff (1879–1953), best known for his iconic World War I memorial paintings and atmospheric landscapes.

Longstaff served as an official war artist during WWI and became famous for his haunting and highly collectible “ghost” battlefield scenes. Alongside these, he produced beautifully executed landscape works such as this piece, which are widely sought after for their decorative appeal and strong investment value.

This is a genuine signed oil on canvas, featuring a classic Longstaff subject — a misty riverside scene with trees, reflections, and a distant castle rendered in his recognisable soft, impressionistic style.

Longstaff’s works are held in major collections, and while his WWI paintings command the highest prices, his landscape oils remain very popular for collectors and interior display due to their distinctive atmosphere and size.

Pickup preferred due to size. Can assist with secure packaging for courier at buyer’s cost.
