Description

A stylish lead crystal cat figurine in the Art Deco style by the French maker, J. G. Durand. This slightly stylised Egyptian crystal glass cat sits on an integral glass plinth.

J. G. Durand was a renown crystal glassmaker of the 20th century who passed away in 1997. Durand founded the company in 1927 near the French village of Arques. The family has a long background in glass making. J. G. Durand was the son of Georges Durand, the owner of Verrerie Cristallerie d'Arques.

In good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or other damage.

Approximate measurements: Height 13.5 cm, width 6.5 cm, depth 3.5 cm.

This is a very stylish and well made cat ornament. Some consider it to be a paperweight.
