Description
Here we have an early Majolica Glaze Vase. 30cm tall. Clean with no chips cracks repairs or crazing. It came from a collection down south and the collector, who started in the 1970s, believed it to be Milton Pottery. He had quite a collection, many of which are offered for sale in my listings. Milton Pottery operated between 1889 and 1916. The majority of the pieces were unmarked as this was the practice of the day. Apart from one Black & White photo from the 1890 Dunedin Exhibition no other definitive record of what was made survives. In my mind the streaky majolica glaze indicates Milton, however, please make your own mind up or ask self-proclaimed experts before you place a bid. Certainly it is a magnificent Victorian era vase
