Antique Pair of Hand Carved Bone Sewing Needles in Silk Case

This pair of hand carved sewing needles are weigh approximately 25 grams each, they are slightly different sizes, one being 230mm length, and the other at 235mm length, both with 9mm stoppers tapering to a 3mm tip

Beautiful heavy dense bone with a smooth polished exterior and a fibrous interior with pits and lines running length wise

Very good antique condition with minor wear

Remnants of a time when sewing relied on bone needles these needles, crafted from bone, were essential for stitching together furs and other natural materials to create clothing in early sewing practices
