#HERE NOW SPRING BARGINS# 50 24KT Gold Plated Art Treasures of the Prado Medallions Frankin Mint 1984 Art Treasures of the Prado, this is a true collectors treasure. Fifty 24kt gold plated bronze limited edition proof quality medallions depicting various art works held in the Prado museum in Madrid Spain. Presented in a leather style album with accompanying descriptive notes about each artist and the artwork. Produced in 1984 by Franklin Mint with a limited world wide run of 7500 sets. Each medallion is 51mm diameter x 5mm thick and weighs 80grams. The reverse of each medallion has the artwork title, artists name and date in Spanish . The edge of each is impressed ORO DE 24 QUILATES SOBRE BRONCE (24K GOLD OVER BRONZE) FM 82 P. The entire collection including the album is about 7.5kg. Actual gold weight is not known to me. See photos for listing of the artworks depicted. The medallions are in at least proof condition with each one in the folder in a protective plastic case. The cases can easily be opened if you want to remove the medallion. The album and the medallions are in very good condition, however the descriptive notes for three medallions (31, 41 and 43) are missing and few (about 6?) of the hard clear plastic cases are worn or cracked. Also one medallion, No 43 The Holy Trinity, El Greco, 1577 is missing and has been replaced with a duplicate of No. 28 Family Of Charles IV, Francisco Goya, 1800. Single medallions are occasionally listed on eBay so it may be possible to correct this error. Although the medallions are presented as an album they would look much more spectacular framed as a stunning golden display.
