The story is told that in the 1920's a young New Zealand woman set sail for Europe where she met and fell in love with an Italian Count to whom she became engaged. Her engagement ring which befitted her, is a ladies handmade 18 carat yellow gold & platinum Edwardian (1901-1920) Old European and Swiss Cut diamond dress ring with split shoulders and a tapered slightly rounded shank.
Material: 18ct yellow gold and platinum with one (1) old European cut natural diamond (1.75 ct), H-I colour, clarity is SI2 (slightly included 2). Stones: 12 old Swiss cut natural diamonds - total carat weight of 12 diamonds: 0.410 ct. Total weight of ring: 3.63grams

Condition: The 2x early Swiss cut diamonds are missing from the illusion settings, between the split shoulders on either side of the Center Diamond (NOTE: it is known they were Swiss cut diamonds as they were previously noted on an older certificate). The claws need to be retipped on the smaller diamonds on the split shoulders. The ring is in fair to good overall condition.
