Description
Beautifully decorated and engraved choora/pesh-jabz/kyber knife with bone handle.
This is a rare military presentation piece made out to a Major Covenere. I have not seen another like it since I started collecting.
Choora were widely used by the Pashtun tribes of the Khyber pass region, featuring a keen single edged blade with t cross section originally designed for penetrating mail and other armour. Examples are also found in North India and Persia.
A very nice and rare example in excellent condition for its age.
