Working terracotta replica of a Roman oil lamp depicting a charioteer. Moulded from the terracotta original (AD 40-70) on display at The British Museum. The original possibly from the workshop of Caius Clodius, Italy
Completely useable (never used) by filling with olive oil and lighting the cotton wick.
In original box.
Purchased from the British Museum shop in the 1990s and never used.
Condition: Very good original condition. Box in good condition but not perfect (see photos)
