FROM THE JEWELLER AND WATCHMAKERS LITTLE ESTATE MUSEUM CABINETS I HAVE THESE FOUR LOVELY MUSEUM QUALITY PIECES OF VARIOUS GRADES OF KAURI AMBER / GUM FROM THE ESTATE OF THE JEWELLERS MUSEUM ITEMS AND THE MOST SIGNIFICANT KAURI AMBER OF OUR PREHISTORIC PAST. From the Jewellers estate display cabinets I have for auction these four late Victorian Circa 1890 - 1900 stunning swamp Kauri amber/gum pieces cut and part polished show the wonderful various colours and ancient Kauri wood trapped within and one piece is cut and polished as a lovely clear dice, they were bought by the Grandfather for their Kauri gum cabinet in the 1950's plus they come with the unique carved Totara wood box with a fine piece of Pounamu greenstone on the front which is most probably from the 1930's -1940's. Included with each piece is the quite moving written verse from the museum collection. These stunning pieces were cut by a Northland Dalmation Kauri digger in the late 1890's to early 1900's and the notes from the estate state it was a Dalmation Kauri digger named Pavletich that cut and polished these pieces of Kauri amber/gum, displayed as part of the carved Victorian art display of various grades of Kauri in the Museum Gallery, pictures were taken with light from a window, these are truly beautiful pieces of ancient Kauri amber, the colours of Kauri amber are unique as it is still holding onto the wonderful ancient sunlight and Kauri wood from the ancient past .
