Description
Mosasaur fossil tooth - $18 each Ouled Abdoun Basin, Morocco Cretaceous period, 94 - 66 million years ago
High quality Mosasaur teeth are available! These are between 28mm - 37mm (from the front/base of the crown to the tip). The pics are a sample of what I have available, some aren't pictured. I can send you a pic of a selection for you to chose one from or I can chose at random. A couple do have minor repairs which is very common because they often break when being extracted from the matrix, otherwise they are very good condition showing very well preserved cutting edge(s), enamel and tip. Some have feeding wear, as you'd expect. The recurve, twist, width and thickness on each tooth is very unique showing a variety of species and also each tooths function within the jaw. Mosasaurs were marine reptiles that lived alongside the dinosaurs in the Cretaceous period and they dominated the oceans, with one species reaching a massive 17m in length. Similar to sharks, Mosasaurs shed their teeth as a tooth wore out, so these crowns are shed teeth. Mosasaurs are related to modern day Monitor lizards (eg the Komodo Dragon)
