The photos were taken dry, and still the colors are still remarkably vibrant. In my opinion, the chocolate ironstone has already been ground/thinned to bring the surface closer to the opal color. Aside from the wide main face, you can also see beautiful sparks of color scattered across smaller parts of the stone.
