'Te Papa' has One as does the Tairawhiti Museum - Do you? Rare & Collectible Commemorate Plate Featuring James Cook.
This plate or trinket dish commemorates the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition, which celebrated 100 years since the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
The exhibition was held in Rongotai, Wellington, from late 1939 to early 1940. We have other commemorative exhibition pieces listed.
Manufactured in the UK by H&K Tunstall - a recognized and respected/collected pottery/porcelain manufacturer.
Overall condition as a display piece is excellent aside from one small chip to the underside and an aged barely visible repair to the handle (left hand side). Please examine the photos as to the condition.
Circa. 16cm by 12.5cm.
