This beautiful taonga is an heirloom in the waiting. Beautifully carved, on a carefully finished display stand this Putatara has a lovely deep bass sound when blown. Carved in Tairawhiti. The shell is a beauty in its own right, honoured by careful hand plaited lashing, pheasant feathers and a mouthpiece carved and inlaid with paua and bone. The photos speak for themselves.
