Description
The card has a very tiny corner bumps on three corners. It has not been postally used and the reverse is very clean. It began in 1851 as "The Mess" on Maunakea Street. It was renamed The British Club in 1867 and finally became The Pacific Club in 1892. In 1926, the club moved into the old Cleghorn home on Queen Emma Street. This site was the birthplace of Princess Ka?iulani in 1875. The Victorian-style building shown in the postcard was torn down in the 1960s and replaced with the club's current modern facility. The building is also historically known as Afong's House, built in the 1850s in a mix of Western and Chinese styles. Please check photos' as these form part of my description.
