Description
** Fabulous 18th Century pair of Salts. **
1790 London pair of boat shaped salts. Made by recognised silversmith Henry Chawner. They have lovely reeded edges, handles and the base. They each have a small shield on one side that has not been engraved but well polished. The pierceing is what really sets it off in my opinion. I hope the pictures do them justice. There are a couple of tiny dints in one of them but very small. There was a lot of work to complete them made of many pieces with nice engraving. The hallmarks on the oval base look like new. They probably had glass liners when they were new. 234 years later they still exist.
Height at top of handles about 63 mm. Width at handles 120 mm. Depth 50 mm. Weights 72 and 70.5 grams.
If you wish to make an offer please don't insult me as there will be no counter offer. Have had stupid offers on some of my other listings.
