Description
Here we have one of the finest Saws ever made by Disston. The No 43 Combination Saw, which boasted a level and ruler. Disston patented the design in a venture with Jackson Gotham in 1859. The Saw was produced until 1918 as the top of the line model. That would make this Saw 100 to 150 yrs old. The level vials in the Saw are still complete, and in working order, the saw plate is straight, with a faint etch. The ruler is still quite visible. The handle is strong with no borer, it has a beautiful indentation on the back where someone’s fingers have worn a groove in the wood from years of hard graft. The horn has been professionally repaired at some point as you would expect for a very old well loved saw. Saw is 24” and 7tpi These saws are getting very hard to find, You may see the occasional one on a international tool site, usually asking in the thousands.
Pick up is in Onehunga or post at buyers expense.
