Beautiful R.A.BERRY CAST STEEL stamped broad axe. Over 7lbs.

R. A. Berry is not listed in the Dircetory of American Toolmakers so a fairly rare maker, but I do have a r.a.berry head that is stamped with a “NY” so I assume he was a New York based blacksmith most likely pre 1860’s. This head looks to have had minimal use in its very long life.

*this is the first time this axe will be sold in Nz marketplace, as is the case with 99% of my axes. I will be letting go of quite a large percentage of my axe and hatchet collection here on trade me, all types of patterns and origins and quality's (from mint to Rusty). There will be both with and without handles and some very nice handles by them selves. will not be doing pick ups, so post only. Please make contact within 3 days of auction ending.
