The Space In Between - Finding Silence.

Where is silence found in the space and time between significant moments?” Our milestones definitive in their significance and importance are knots on our life’s thread – by their marks they define the routine of everyday life that falls in between. Contained within the notched intervals are most of our lives. Along the edges of the habitual and significant moments, in the unseen space in-between sits silence. Next to the connections, gestures and impressions – suspended – quiet – sewn into the limits and borders of experiences. These silences hold space. A quiet in the darkness – the immaterial erasing the material.?Exploring these areas and their relationship seeks to reveal their place and meaning. The aspirations of the project are to create discussion around silence, its place and importance.

An abstract expressionist, Elle Freestone’s paintings explore structure and movement (both formal and gestural) – to make works that are dynamic, moody and intriguing. An emerging painter she works to express her immediate interests and concerns, personal in nature, global in effect.
