Description
Railways of Britain is a nationwide series of books covering the history, locomotive sheds and facilities, preservation, and maps of operation of all the railway companies who are or have operated in the counties covered by the book. This book was published by Ian Allen Publishing in 2007 at £19.99.
This Norfolk and Suffolk issue lists the history of the forty-eight railway companies from there with photos of many of them and lists and gives information on the facilities of the forty-six locomotive sheds there. It then shows the recommendations for line closures of the Beeching Report, gives information on lines preserved, and finishes with forty-five pages of maps covering both counties in full and showing the railway routes differentiated between the lines that are open to passenger services, those that are open to freight traffic only, preserved lines and those closed completely. Station names with earlier versions are given and the major road network is shown as a means of placing the open and closed lines into their local context.
This 112-page hard cover book is in brand new condition and is offered with a low starting price, no reserve and free shipping to any New Zealand address.
