This large-format book, published in Austria in the 1990s , follows the Danube for its whole length from its source in Germany through Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine to the Black Sea. The beautiful colour photos by Manfred Horvath evocatively portray the landscapes and townscapes along the river, together with the people who reside in them.
