Description
We have six of these quite unique vintage leadlight panels left over after making four tall column-shaped windows with them in a period house in Taranaki some 40 years ago.
Four of the leadlights butted almost end to end in wooden frames were used in each window.
The four windows were then placed vertically and quite close together in a wall between the dining room and the deck - photo shows work in progress.
They looked fabulous and were lit at night from both inside and out. In daylight, the sun poured in.
Each panel measures 30x43cm and they have no cracks or chips. They all have distinctive wide lead strips and are quite heavy for their size.
They were originally bought as a job lot of 25-30 panels, some of them with broken glass or damage to the lead.
A New Plymouth stained glass specialist repaired them using old glass from the more battered panels and made them waterproof again.
With a little imagination they could be used to create a similar feature in your home.
