Skeleton Bolts (also known as Panic Bolts) are suited to doors where barrel bolts are insufficient and extra strength is required. Skeleton bolts are generally installed on the inactive leaf of double doors, so one door remains in a fixed position, but can be opened by deactivating the bolt.
