We have replaced our MacKenzie Ecomax boiler with a 22kw heatpump that provides hot water to our house wide radiators (11 rooms and 2 towel rails for bathrooms).

The Echomax has been great, we ran it 365 days a year, and burnt around 14 tonnes of coal a year to heat our old villa.

We kept it in place to ensure the heat pump was capable of providing the heat output we needed throughout winter. It's not quite as good, but good enough.

The Ecomax is a double burner, so virtually nil fly ash.

The hopper was filled by our local coal vendor using their auto belt drive system, so no work there if you choose.

The coal screw and motor were replaced 2 years ago, as was the red pump, so when turned off April last year the system was fully operational.

The system, is for sale in Dunedin as is.

The coal hopper is 1.5 tonne.

The purchaser will need to allow to remove the system carefully as it's heavy.
