Hire A Hut is a family owned and operated business that doesn't compromise on quality or style.
All of our Huts are built with a TREATED timber frame and NOT refrigeration panel. Unlike other companies we use 1st grade SG8 (4x2 wall framing and 6x2 subfloor framing). This means our Huts don’t just look good, they will stand the test of time.

Happy new year. What do you use for insulation please? What is the internal footprint? You say built to code but does it come with documentation required for building consent? Thanks. andrea313 (139 • 2:39 pm, Fri, 9 Jan )Hi there, the insulation is as follows: Underfloor R2.5, Walls R2.2,Ceiling R5 so it meets H1 insulation standards. The cabin is built to plans by an LBP. Comes with plumbing PS3, electrical cert and plans if required. The cabin is signed off ex our yard so doesn’t include any onsite works. hire_a_hut (12 • Friday, 9 January 2026 )Thanks. Sorry I meant what products do you use for insulation please? If 2.7w is internal footprint about 2.4w? andrea313 (139 • 2:46 pm, Fri, 9 Jan )No worries. We use expol underfloor and earth wall in walls and ceiling. The walls are around 100mm thick. So 2.7m externally would work to about 2.5 internally. The cabin is large enough to comfortably fit a queen bed with bedside tables each side 🙂 hire_a_hut (12 • Friday, 9 January 2026 )What is this worth in form without kitchen and bathroom vspec33 (2 • 9:11 pm, Fri, 9 Jan )Hi there a 7.2m as an open plan room is $36k hire_a_hut (12 • Friday, 9 January 2026 )
