This yurt is approximately 15 years old. It was built here in Kerikeri from Northland harvested Douglas Fir and the design of the main structure follows The Real Mongolian Ger Book for the most part. The book is included in the sale and has detalied instructions on the construction, pitching and a section on furniture and traditioins etc. The Dimensions are 5m wide, 2.4m inside center height, 1.5m inside wall height and the floor is aproximately 0.4m off the ground. Please note that there is NO INSULATION layer included so the new owner will need to make or buy one, I have fitted a plastic layer in the roof between the rafters and the roof canvas to maintain waterproofing. This has been in place for 2 winters and the inside is dry. I would also recommend some underfloor insulation be installed. The center skylight is not totally water tight so I have been using a tarpoulin over the center of the roof to maintain waterproofing. There are two canvas layers, the inside one is standard canvas like on old school tents and the outer layer is a woven sun protection layer. Both have been fabricated to fit snug on the framework. The Floor is thick 8 ply board painted with sealant on the underside and this is screwed to the steel frame which sits underneath. The steel frame is made up of sections that bolt together and the height can be adjusted at each leg to get a level floor. There is also a small fireplace from Benjineering's excellent range (https://www.benjineering.nz/products/mini-fire-place) and can be included for $800 including the flu system, the guitar and chair are not included. The floor system took me a few days to put together and get level, the rest of the pitch took 6 hours with a friend helping.
