You see a lot of shelves on trademe, but how to pick up the one you want? The photos may look like the same, but the quality varies. It is easy for the sellers to label their shelves as "heavy duty" or "commercial" or "industry", however, are they hesitate to tell you what weight the shelves will take? What's the weight of the whole shelves? What's the profile of uprights, beams and shelves?

How to identify the quality of the shelf?

1. Check the products they are selling, you can identify whether they are a $2 shop or a professional.
2. check the weight of each components, some of them are paper thin, a beam weighs no more than a cardboard, which means it won't take much weights.
3. Check out the foot: if the feet are minimised or even no feet, which means they tried to save every cents on the costs, don't expect too much on the quality.
4. Check out the quality of powder coating, the good ones last years, the bad ones become rusty within months
5. Check the feedbacks, the customers will spread the words from there.
