This Development Kit is for those who might already be familiar with the BASIC programming language, and/or not so familiar with (or enthusiastic about ;) Assembly Language programming.

It's also for those with little or no programming experience because tutorials and comprehensive manuals are included, and BASIC is an easy intuitive language to learn.

The Kit comes with two BASIC interpreters:

• FAMOS Full BASIC (FFBASIC) which implements all the standard BASIC commands, functions and statements, and uses all the standard BASIC data types.
• FAMOS Interpreted BASIC (FIBASIC), a simple dialect of BASIC which supports only 27 different instructions and 4 basic data types.

FIBASIC comes with its own program development environment called the FAMOS Interpreted BASIC Runtime Editor (FIBRE). 8 sample FIBASIC programs are provided, including digital clocks, sound generators, calculators and memory dumpers.

There are also FFBASIC versions of all of the FIBASIC sample programs (for comparative purposes), but also many more FFBASIC sample programs are included. e.g.

• Chiming Ticking Clock (with quarter-hour Westminster Chimes)
• World Clock (with 9 international time zones)
• a unique Scientific Calculator (with Direct Algebraic Logic)
• a Mandelbrot fractal generator
• Peg Solitaire Game
• Rubik's Cube implementation *JETSET Boeing 747 Flight Simulator (with VOR/DME and ILS!)

All sample programs of course come with full source code, and the Scientific Calculator also comes with a separate design document.

Supplied as a bootable image, with installation instructions and other useful information, as an email attachment. No hardware included.
