Description
I am downsizing some of my sewing and craft supplies.
This auction is for a vintage Elna sewing machine, known as the Grasshopper because of its green colour. It was manufactured by the Swiss firm Tavaro in the late 1940s. Designed by Ramon Casas, it was the first modern free arm electric portable machine.
I had this machine checked by a service person, and they said it was in good working condition.
The carry case also functions as a work station. It comes with a small tool box. There’s no instruction book, but it should be possible to find one online.
There are several similar machines on Etsy, selling between US$430 and US$1500.
The carry case is approx 36 x 30 x 17cms. It weighs just over 10kgs.
Pickup is from Northcote. I am willing to ship this, at the buyer’s own risk.
