Description
The AE-1 Programme was one of the better SLR cameras that Canon made. The black ones are particularly sought after. Adding a power winder made them particularly useful even though it only runs two frames per second. That is better than you can do by hand! The power winder runs on four AA cells and the metering etc runs on a 6 Volt alkaline. The camera has new items installed. The black paint is very good except for a little rubbing loss at the ends of the body. Perhaps a tight case? The shutter is working well at all speeds and is quiet. The lens is a 50mm f1.8 New FD and is very clean inside and out. I have a Canon gadget that opens the diaphragm on New FD lenses - and no it is not for sale! All of the A-series cameras have a potential problem with the plate that holds the winding shaft - it is held by three plastic rivets that tend to break and the bits jam the winder. With modest skill it can be repaired fairly easily, though it takes a bit of time. This example has no sign of the problem. Note that the winder has a clip to keep the cover for the winder shaft - often lost. I have no instruction book (easily accessed on line) but there is a lens catalogue in VGC.
