The Pentax Motor Drive LX allows single frame film advance and continuous film advance from 0.5 to 5 frames per second for Pentax LX cameras.

The condition of the Ni-Cd batteries in the Pentax Ni-Cd Battery Pack LX is unknown. There are instructions on the web to open the Pentax Ni-Cd Battery Pack LX and replace the Ni-Cd batteries with more modern batteries. The supplied Battery Pack M can be used to charge the Pentax Ni-Cd Battery Pack LX if the batteries are in a chargeable condition. The power input to the Pentax Charge Pack M is 220V AC so it will work on New Zealand's power supply. An adapter will be required to connect the inputs to the Pentax Charge Pack M to a standard New Zealand three socket outlet. Adapter is not included.

The Pentax Battery Grip M can house 12 AA batteries to power the Pentax Motor Drive LX.

The Pentax Power Cord M 3m allows the power source, either the Pentax Ni-Cd Battery Pack Lx or the Pentax Battery Grip M to be separated from the Pentax Motor Drive LX but still allow full operation.

The Pentax Motor Drive LX has been tested with 12 AA batteries in the Pentax Battery Grip M and all functions have been found to be functional on an operational late model Pentax LX camera.
